The gimbal is almost always the first thing to go.
The Mavic is DJI's workhorse and it shows in what arrives here. These aircraft are bought to work with, they travel, they get folded and unfolded hundreds of times, and that folding is exactly their weak point. The gimbal ribbon runs through the hinge and wears at the fold. One day the camera hangs crooked or stops moving altogether.
The second classic is the front arm. On a landing that is not quite level, or against an obstacle the sensors missed, the arm breaks or the hinge develops play. You feel it before you see it in the footage: the aircraft no longer folds shut cleanly.
The Mavic 3 generation adds something else. It is a dense aircraft that runs hot, and we regularly see units frozen during an update or refusing to boot after overheating. That is electronics work, not parts work.
