Torhout is right next to us, and in the woods between Wijnendale and Houthulst there is a lot of FPV flying. That is a different kind of damage from what a camera drone takes. An FPV aircraft does not hit something at ten kilometres an hour but at sixty, and the blow then goes not into the shell but straight into the electronics.

Blown ESCs are the classic here. The motor jams on impact, the controller has to absorb full current in a fraction of a second, and a component fails. That is exactly the work our microscope is on the table for: replacing one MOSFET instead of swapping the whole board. Cracked frames, torn camera cables and damaged VTX modules also come from here.

Home-built rigs are welcome. You do not have to explain why there is no type number on it.

Repairs

What reaches us most often from this region

Motors and ESCs

A motor that stutters, an arm that will not spin up, controllers blown after a crash. We replace the failed component, not the whole module.

Mainboard and flight controller

Broken traces, burnt components, memory shaken loose. We solder on the board itself rather than replacing it, even when the part is no longer supplied.

Arms and shell

Broken arms, hinges with play, a cracked underside after a hard landing. Usually the most visible damage and rarely the most expensive.
